Code of Conduct at Poinciana Cricket Club
At Poinciana Cricket Club Inc., we promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members, guests, and participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected of every individual associated with the club.
General Conduct Guidelines
All members and guests must:
- Treat everyone equally, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, religion, background, or beliefs
- Actively oppose discrimination in all forms
- Maintain high standards of personal conduct and sportsmanship
- Promote cricket positively, including fair play and respect for rules
- Encourage learning and following official match rules
- Respect the decisions of match officials
- Discourage arguing, unfair play, or rule violations
- Recognize and support good performance by others
- Ensure dues are paid prior to the start of the season
Squad Selection Policy
- The selection committee will release rosters by Wednesday each week
- Selected players will be notified in advance
- Financial standing may impact selection eligibility
Player Code of Conduct
Players are expected to:
- Wear proper uniforms for all scheduled matches
- Follow captain and bowler instructions regarding fielding positions
- Remain at the park until the match is over unless excused
- Obtain the captain’s permission before leaving the field during play
- Clear all dues before participating in any match
- Notify the selection committee at least 2 days before a game if unavailable
- Avoid arguing with umpires or violating rules
- Learn and respect the Laws of Cricket
- Uphold dignity and good conduct on and off the field
- Arrive on time and participate in pre/post-match meetings
- Refrain from alcohol, smoking, or banned substances on the field
Violations may result in disciplinary action from the club’s Board of Discipline.
Club Committees and Roles
Grounds Committee
Oversees field maintenance and coordinates assistance when major repairs are needed.
Code of Conduct Committee
Defines and enforces behavior expectations for members and committee participants.
Public Relations Officer
Manages the club’s public image, press interactions, and promotional materials such as newsletters, brochures, and social media updates.
Training / Physio Role
Leads warm-ups, stretching, and injury prevention during practices and matches.
Team Manager
- Sends match notices to members
- Collects available player lists and forwards to selection committee
- Notifies selected players and assigns a scorer
- Attends all league meetings
Vice-Captain
Assumes the captain’s responsibilities when absent and supports leadership duties as needed.
Executive Committee
President: Ensures all committees perform duties, appoints personnel, and signs club documents.
Vice-President: Acts on behalf of the President when absent and supports assigned tasks.
Treasurer: Manages collections and records membership dues, fees, and other payments.
Secretary: Manages correspondence, banking, and supports committee activities.
Disciplinary Committee
Monitors member conduct and ensures behavior aligns with club values and ethics. The President has final authority on disciplinary decisions.
Selection Committee
Selects balanced teams of 13 from eligible players. Ensures all selected players are in good financial standing with the club.
Captain
- Understands and applies MCC laws and club guidelines
- Manages player conduct during matches
- Attends league meetings
- Coordinates with club leadership
